Sometimes the "mic'd up" segments of a telecast are pretty boring, but occasionally you get a few lines that show you some of the interesting candid exchanges of the players, who can be pretty reserved in interviews. One thing you're always sure to hear is the players called by their nicknames, which kind of funny even when we already know them. But last night, in two separate segments, Flyers fans got to hear the new nicknames for the most recent addition to the team, Dan Carcillo, and both are pretty fun.
In the first clip, he was referred to as Chico, and in the second, Carbomb. You can expect to read both here regularly, especially if he keeps giving us something to post about, as he did last night. After the Flyers took the 1-0 lead, the Bruins' Steve Montador probably wanted to curb the crowd effect quickly, so he challenged Carcillo quickly after the draw.
How great is that? We'd all like to see him add some more scoring, but the team is plenty deep with talent in that regard, so I'm satisfied with the prowess he's showing without the gloves so far.
