Most contending teams in the NHL use the Trade Deadline as a time to
improve their team by adding players that can help them make a run at
the Stanley Cup. The Flyers are usually one of the more aggressive
teams at the Deadline but this season they were hindered because they
were right up against the salary cap. Philly still made a couple of
moves, unfortunately, it leaves the team worse than they were a day
before. The Flyers made a pair of trades today: they acquired
winger Dan Carcillo from the Phoenix Coyotes for Scottie Upshall and a
2nd round pick and they also acquired defenseman Kyle McLaren from the
Sharks for a 6th round pick. Both moves are head scratchers and make it
seem like the Flyers had another deal in the works that didn't pan out.The Upshall trade is especially frustrating.....Click the link for more on these deals, including more on GM Paul Holmgren and the mistakes he made.....

We'd Cry Too if You Traded Us to Phoenix, But It's Time for Flyers Fans to Move on
When the trade deadline was approaching, it was easy to look at two

players fitting either description changed teams yesterday. No great
goalies were really available, and the asking price on the defenseman
was too ...

It?s Not You..It?s the Coyotes
I always think of trades as hockey?s breakup. In the wake of today?s movement and the loss of Derek Morris, Daniel Carcillo, Olli Jokinen and Mikael Tellqvist, I have to again wonder just how similar a trade is to a break up. Here?s how I picture the scene between ex-Phoenix Coyote Daniel ...

All Present and Accounted for, Flyers Outlast B's
The Flyers win in Boston Tuesday night was fairly quiet and uneventful, unless you count the deafening silence of Bostonians shuffling out of the building early and the fact that no Bruins were concussed during play. The latter fact alone should make headlines after last season. But the real ...
