Now down 0-3 to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference Finals , it certainly looks grim for the Fly guys. They haven't had the benefit of even officiating, and they are down some key players but you have to hand it to the Pens. They've out played the Flyers in pretty much ever facet of the game. The mistakes the Flyers have made the Pens have taken advantage. The real key to the series has been the Penguins tight team defense which has kept the Flyers bottled up. Along with their flurrying forecheck , the Pens are certainly a tough team to beat. They would have still been a tough team to beat even if the Flyers had a healthy Simon Gagne, Kimmo Timonen, and Braydon Coburn.

You can't fault the Flyers effort, the Pens are just the better team. No player, no coach is at fault here. And true a few bounces here or there and this could be a different series at this moment. However, I still believe in the end that the Pens would eventually win the series and move on. Some would say the John Stevens has been out coached, something that has been said a couple times throughout the season. I don't believe this to be true, I really think Stevens has done a good job especially with what he's had to deal with. I still believe that the Canadiens were the better team, but Stevens had a perfect game plan for them. However, no game plan would have good enough to deal with this extremely talented Penguins team.

In the coming days we'll have a recap of the Flyers season, perhaps a little tribute to this team that captured so many Flyers fans hearts. Also what we have to look forward to next season.
