In a very dull day of sports the world of hockey shines through with a nice 12 man brawl. My favorite part is the malicious smile on the Ottawa goalies face that just screams, "Dude I'm going to beat the piss out of you right now, I've been waiting my whole pro career for a fight, your done." Than he's taking punches in the face and smiling the whole time.
Ray Emery is officially the coolest player in the NHL.

How often do you see a goalie and a position player get into it? Ray Emery didn't lose that shit-eating grin throughout the entire brawl.

Watching Emery smirk through the whole thing was great. This is why the NHL brawls are so great. It is really a part of the sport. Everyone expects it. They throw some punches, they get broken up, there are unwritten rules to it and it makes for great SportsCenter.

I'm still waiting for someone to explain hockey brawls to me. What role do the refs play? Why is it ok to nearly punch a ref? Why is fighting part of the game?

Unbelievable...I can't believe this is somewhat legal. I mean it's fantastic to watch, but pretty barbaric that it's semi-condoned by the league.
