What to watch for in hockey Wednesday:
Reunion in Chicago
Nikolai Khabibulin vs. Cristobal Huet sounds nice on the marquee, but the anticipated matchup of players who shared goalie duty last season for the Chicago Blackhawks might not happen when the Edmonton Oilers visits United Center.
Blackhawks starter Huet was rocked for three goals in a 53-second span Monday by the Calgary Flames and gave way to backup Antti Niemi after seven minutes. Niemi, who has a shutout in his only start, benefited when the Hawks stormed back for a 6-5 win and could be edging his way into the No. 1 job.
Khabibulin will make his first appearance as an opposing goalie at United Center since 2005. The 36-year-old Russian has helped the Oilers carve out an early 3-1-1 record and is 12-6-1 in his career against the Blackhawks.

Nikolai Khabibulin is a Wiener
We were pretty stoked to watch the Blackhawks against the Oilers tonight to see Khabi return against his former team. But… he’s not going to be in net tonight. Instead, it’s Antti Niemi for the Oilers tonight. We doubt that this was Khabi’s decision, but it still kinda ruins the return of a guy that [...]

Shaky Starts For Huet
from Tim Sassone of Between The Circles at the Chicago Daily-Herald,
It’s way too early to give up on Cristobal Huet less than two weeks into the season.
But the clock is ticking.
Huet has made four starts and been shaky in all of them. His exit seven minutes into Monday’s game against Calgary after he allowed 3 goals on 5 shots was the right move by Hawks coach...
