The NHL is not doing enough to crack down on diving. The majority of diving calls are actually reversed by the league office. Great vote of confidence to see the NHL de-legitimizing its own officials, and allowing scoring to be even more inflated. It's sad to see the NHL devolving. A bunch of guys who couldn't even keep the league afloat for a year are changing the rules of a game that has flourished for more than a century.

  • What I don't get is why the officials call the diving penalty and the other penalty at the same time, in effect negating the man-advantages. Since I'm a Flames fanboy, I was personally offended. I watched pretty much all the Flames games, and Huselius' diving penalties were the case of a legitimate penalty to the other team, but because Huselius has a reputation, he also gets the penalty!

Nothing makes sense about the officiating these days. Not only is the concept of good judgment secondary to the rules, but then the rules aren't consistently enforced. It's always some unsolvable puzzle.
