Kings starting goaltender Dan Cloutier was injured taking a shot during warmups, so backup Barry Brust earned his first NHL start. Brust made 34 saves on 36 shots to help the Kings to a 4-2 win in San Jose. Kings rookie phenom Anzei Kopitar scored 2 goals in the first period.
