On May 25, an F-5 tornado, packing winds in excess of 200 mph, destroyed a small town of 1,900 in Parkersburg, Iowa. The monstrous three-quarters of a mile wide twister needed just 34 seconds to kill six people and demolish the pride and joy of this community: the Aplington-Parkersburg High School, which has produced four active NFL players, fifth most of any high school in the nation. Casey Weigmann (Denver Broncos), Brad Meester (Jacksonville Jaguars) and Jared DeVries (Detroit Lions) gathered in nearby Cedar Falls on Sunday to help raise money to rebuild the school's athletic program. The NFL players signed autographs, while "Together We Will" T-shirts and "AP Falcons Tornado Relief" hats were sold. The fundraiser also included a silent auction for signed football jerseys and helmets, as well as signed photos by NFL players and other celebriti...

Brett Fah-vruh A Panther? Give Me A Break!!
I'm not saying that I consider Pro Football Talk a road map. I don't see them as a news organization that I trust above all others. What I will say is that they are reporting something today that, if true, could be absolutely enormous.
They're a cute little website but it seems to me that they're [...]
Packers Still Silent Over Brett Favre Situation - GridironFans.com
Several days after ESPN.com broke the story that Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre wanted to reverse his March 4 decision to retire the team remained relatively silent Monday. I’m a Broken Record
I really hate do this to you. All of you, I really mean it, but something has to be said for everyone. I've already written two blogs on this in the last two days (Hey ESPN, STFU! and ESPN Continues to Slay Me), but this definitely takes the cake. The above image is the homepage for ESPN.com's NFL section at around 12:20 AM ET on July 7, 2008. Yeah. The Brett Favre-lovefest...
The Packers should bring back Brett Favre
I know Brett Favre's "will he or won't he" act is getting tiresome.
I know it's not fair to Aaron Rodgers.
I know this might make the Packers worse off in two or three years.
But if Brett Favre really wants to return to football, the Packers should take him back. There's no other reasonable choice. Favre holds the keys. He can un-retire whenever he...
