NHL makes a new rule during the playoffs
Avery is a pest, a nuisance, and a thorn in the side of any opposing team. Just ask Devil goaltender Martin Brodeur about Avery and his antics last night. While on a powerplay Avery stood right in front of Brodeur, facing him and swinging his stick in the air in a attempt to screen Brodeur from any incoming shot. Even though this wasn't in the rulebook, players in the league felt like it was an unwritten law not to do such a thing. Well the NHL has moved quickly and has said that Avery's actions now will be an unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty. I'm still surprised that Avery did this, only because facing the goalie and having his stick in the air really takes him out of the play. Other than that I could see Avery doing just about anything to win.
