NHL referees a big factor in Sharks Flames series

Even though the Flames forced a game 7, the only negative was the BAD officiating! The boiling point came in the 3rd period when Craig Conroy obviously canceled out the icing call, and the TV shot of Darryl Sutter throwing a tantrum was priceless. The refs should stay impartial, but they aren't doing such a good job. I hate to be a cry-baby like Ryan Clowe apparently gestured to Jarome Iginla in Game 5, but this is ridiculous! So many missed calls to the Sharks, and way too many weak calls to the Flames. This is not just one game, but every single game. The Flames are fighting not only the Sharks, but the referees. It sickens me that it is not a level playing field.

Game 7. Same story.

Sad sad sad.

I am sick of this league and this game. It is impossible to enjoy the game as a small market Canadian team because the new NHL's officiating will always favor the potentially big market American team with the hope that progression in the finals will attract that potential market attention. I would watch the WHL but I can't stand the bumbling.

The Sharks earned everyone of those penalties, and truthfully there should have been more. There would have been if Keenan would have kept his mouth shut, but he intimidated the NHL and the officials into calling more balanced games. The Flames are a physical team, but San Jose is bigger and faster, and after a while all a guy can do is take a penalty trying to slow the Sharks down. This worked a lot for the Flames, as only about half the penalties that were called that could have been. Also, a phantom elbowing penalty to McLaren allowed the Flames there big game 3 comeback, so the refs actually helped Calgary push the series to seven games, as there was ZERO contact on the penalty, and that got the Flames started. Quit crying about the officiating, cause the better team won!

Ok. you are indeed Sneaky. Now I know who has been voting down all my articles. Let's leave the actions speak louder than my words.
