Veteran defenseman Martin Skoula, formerly of the Minnesota Wild, has signed a one year contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Skoula, 29, was cut from both the Florida Panthers and the Columbus Blue Jackets training camp rosters before landing a contract with Pittsburgh. I'm not really in favor of this move, because this puts Deryk Engelland and Nate Guenin, both of whom are NHL capable, back in the AHL. Not to mention Ben Lovejoy, who is currently injured.
