You will have the Alexandre Daigle, Patrik Stefan, Hugh Jessiman, and Stanislav Chistov who showed some promise in their teens but didn't pan out at the NHL Level. Then you have players that were overlooked the first round like Henrik Zetterberg, Paval Datsyuk, Henrik Lundqvist, Jaroslav Halak and insert your favorite player here. Some

This Week in Rangers Hockey (Wetting Their Pants Edition)
“We kind of wet our pants a little there and had that look,” said John Tortorella poetically after the game on Sunday against the Bruins. And Henrik Lundqvist has been suffering from the stomach flu, and threw up between periods last Sunday. So the Rangers are peeing in their pants and throwing up, but isn’t that what playoff-style [...]
Rangers drop one to Isles in shootout.
In a game that was mostly dominated by the New York Rangers, the other New York team took away the two points. Derek's recap covers the stats, I'll provide some analysis from my point of view.- Henrik Lundqvist spent the better part of a month at the beginning of the season bailing the poor Ranger of...
Bruins and Rangers game decided in shootout
Nigel Dawes' shootout goal settled a stellar goaltending duel between New York’s Henrik Lundqvist and Boston's Alex Auld and gave the Rangers a hard fought 1-0 victory over the Bruins on Sunday.
Dawes scored in the shootout for the third time in four games and pushed the Rangers ahead of Boston...
Shanny Nears Ranger Return
According to Larry Brooks in the New York Post, the New York Rangers are close to completing a team-friendly deal that would bring Brendan Shanahan back to Broadway for another season and allow the team some desperately needed flexibility with their payroll.
"Glen [Sather] has been really good in communicating with me while he was dealing with the [Henrik Lundqvist and...
Rangers Deal Montoya, Li'l Hossa
I'm not sure if there were still any fans out there that believed Montoya was considered a blue-chip prospect - especially after the former first-round pick lost his job in Hartford this season to the unheralded Miika Wiikman. Nevertheless, this is a blow to a franchise that, at the very least, expected to be able to spin the highly-touted Montoya for a valuable asset in the...
Canadiens hope Price is right
Much to the joy of the Philadelphia Flyers, Carey Price will be returning to the net for the Montreal Canadiens for Game Five tonight. As they face elimination, Montreal coach Guy Carbonneau has chosen to play to 20 year old rookie, who has been extremely shaky against the Flyers, rather than Jaroslav Halak, who was in net for Game Four after Price was benched. The Canadiens are...
Isles Spoil Home Finale
We beat the Islanders in a pretty one-sided contest on Thursday, unfortunately we left all the momentum on the Island, as we fell 4-3 in a shootout.
Same goalie matchup as yesterday, Henrik Lundqvist and Wade Dubielewicz, each stepped up at times, especially “Dubi” who faced a season-high...

Red Wings vs. Predators Game 2 Preview
The Red Wings got exactly what they needed in Game One. Johan Franzen continued his hot play and Henrik Zetterberg got off to a quick start. Dominik Hasek also played an inspired game. They will look to repeat it in Game Two.
Carter, Peca, Miller, Tucker, Halak, Murray, and Ranger
Why were the Flyers willing to deal Jeff Carter? Will Blue Jackets re-sign Michael Peca? Will Ryan Miller play for the Red Wings in 2009-10? Should the Maple Leafs buy out Darcy Tucker? Which teams may want to sign Jaroslav Halak to offer sheets? Are Glen Murray's days with the Bruins numbered? Is Pa...
Red Wings' Scoring Mule Wallops The Avs Once More
Back in the days when not all television programs were broadcast in "living color", and before remote controls were grafted onto the hands of 90% of the male population in this country, there was a TV show called Francis The Talking Mule. You can probably guess by the title that it wasn't exactly an Emmy Award candidate. But it had a cult following.
The Red Wings have...

Dirtlocker points for: Joe Louis, Peter Budaj, Pavel Datsyuk, Dominik Hasek, Henrik Zetterberg, Joe Torre Several years ago this rivalry would be called "Friday Night at the Fights" but in recent years there has been less venom between the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche.
