Steve Yzerman dipping his pen in company ink?

Though the Wings are one of the best teams in the league and are on the doorstep of another 100 point season, two very strange things have occurred in the last couple of weeks.

1)The re-signing of Darren McCarty

2)Not trading for Sergei Federov

And both those things have the stamp of one person.
