TEAMS: Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa Senators
A little over a week after the Pittsburgh Penguins signed him to a new 2-year contract, Tyler Kennedy's actions spoke volumes about the decision. Kennedy scored the first goal in the Penguins' season opener against the Ottawa Senators in Stockholm less than a minute into the game. He followed up by stripping the puck from Jason Spezza and getting the game winning goal with less than a minute to go in sudden death overtime. The goal averted a shootout and gave the Penguins a 4-3 win.

Rumor of the Day
You might think that today's rumor is that Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal is on drugs. That's not it. You'd be close, but that's not it.
Mr. Matheson writes about some "interesting" posibilities for Wild GM Doug RisebroughA if he cannot get Marian Gaborik signed (he won't, btw).

Jason Spezza is one sneaky S.O.B.
Here’s something you don’t see everyday:
Senators acquire headcase Comrie in exchange for headcase Kaigdorov
After losing out on Petr Nedved, the Senators have acquired the center that they have been wanting, with the absence of Jason Spezza and Mike Fischer due to injuries. Mike Comrie has 7 goals and 20 points in 24 games this season. Comrie, who I have found to be quite an injury-prone, overpaid enigma, is making $3 million this season, and will be a free agent in the summer. The 26...
Nose woes can't stop hockey heroes
The importance of the nose in hockey isn't always recognized by journalists, fans, coaches, or even players. People are more likely to discuss Maxim Afinogenov's crazy legs or Jason Spezza's soft hands.
But think about it: what club wouldn't want a hard-nosed player with a nose for the net who'll stick his nose in there and get his nose dirty?
In fact, the...
