In his three years with the Caps, Brashear quickly became one of the team's more popular players, and it was never too long before one of his teammates would talk about how Brashear's mere presence on the bench helped open up the ice for his more talented teammates. But now, after a spring where some rumors had him headed to the KHL, Brashear signed a two-year, $2.8 million contra...

Mike Knuble, the Newest Member of the Red, White and Blue

The Washington Capitals made an unexpected and big splash on the opening day of free agency today, signing right wing Mike Knuble to a 2-year, $5.6 million deal. Knuble spent the past four seasons with the Flyers. Two statistical feats stand out from Knuble's last four seasons in Philly: in three of those four years he played in all 82 regular season games. Welcome Mike Knuble!

I'll be so much happier to see you in a Capitals uniform than a Flyers uniform.  I like what I've read about Knuble's vocal leadership.  The Caps need that in the locker room. Caps sign gritty wing Knuble

For much of the past two seasons, the Washington Capitals have had a high-powered offense, but one critique was the team was missing a guy to score the "dirty" goals. That's not likely to be a problem anymore. On the first day of free agency Wednesday, the Capitals signed gritty right wing Mike Knuble to a two-year contract worth $2.8 million a season. Reviewing Day 1…

Sorry this took so long, at about midnight I decided to watch a movie before I did this writeup….didn’t realize Watchmen was 3 hours long. Anyway, these past few weeks have been the ultimate in bipolar feelings towards the Rangers, and more specifically towards Glen Sather. First at the draft he passes on Schroeder (DAMN IT!) but instead drafts a kid with potentially...
