It is now official. The Pittsburgh Penguins have not one mystical, magical two-headed monster, but TWO of them. It’s no secret that Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have become the two-headed monster, but in the final, intense run to the playoffs, another two-headed monster reared up in the form of Jordan Staal and Tyler Kennedy. The sun was shining, the sky was clear, little pieces of green had finally started to shoot through the unbearable grey Edmontonians had become accustomed to for the past six months. Homeless people had taken the day off begging, instead choosing to carry old lady's bags and clean the sidewalks. Children held doors for elders, using old colloquialisms...

Penguins clinch Atlantic crown in 4-2 win over Flyers

Resident TSN self-absorbed blowhard Darren Dreger recently opined that scoring doesn’t come easy for Sidney Crosby. That Crosby is merely good at scoring, not great. Let’s be clear, I don’t necessarily disagree with Dreger’s overall objective.  Hell, I’d like to see Cro...

Flashback to the 2008 Eastern Conference Finals: the Flyers get worked by the Pens

Talk about starting the playoffs off with a whimper. If I put as mucheffort into this post as the Flyers showed on the ice tonight, I wouldwrite about two sentences. The post would get pretty good in the middlebut the beginning and the end would be completely worthless. In a game that looked way too much like the 2008 Eastern ConferenceFinals, the Penguins manhandled the Flyers in...
