Dramatic opener win streak extended to 3
It happened two years ago in Houston, with a Xavier Nady game-tying homer with the Bucs trailing and 2 outs in the 9th (Jason Bay hit the winner in extra innings).
It happened last year in Atlanta, after the two best relievers in the bullpen blew a huge lead and a failure to call a routine [...]
Sox Starting out Strong in Season Opener

I was listening to WEEI 850am this afternoon, and Glenn Ordway from the Big Show was talking about how fans were getting too excited about just one game. I agree that we shouldn't get pumped up after just one game, but I believe the excitment is because it was opening day and it was a great...

Sporting News: Jason Bay's Comments "Defeatist"
The Sporting News: Leyland wants the Pirates to win almost as passionately as he wants his current club, Detroit, to win. They are the defending champions, and of course, pitching played a large role. So what to expect in '08? Well Beckett and Dice-K are the two studs, but there are some young pitchers who will also play a role. Here's a look at the Kings of the Hill for the Boston Red Sox:

1. Nice start for Josh Beckett
This season hasn’t gone the way of the ace so far, with CC Sabathia, Cliff Lee, Justin Verlander and Tim Lincecum all struggling for their respective teams. But one No. 1 that didn’t struggle in his ’09 debut was Boston’s Josh Beckett, who fanned 10 in the BoSox’s 5-3 victory [...]
