First let me start off by saying I am a huge, passionate, NHL hockey fan. But keep in mind I do still realize it has its problems. What are some of the changes I would like to see?

  • I agree that the season is way to long... Also, the league is too watered down with poor talent due to the fact that there's way to many teams.
  • Good luck finding a real hockey fan that will agree with taking fighting out of the game. A rink is one of the few places where you can bash a guy's head in and have to sit down for 5 minutes instead of getting charged with assault and battery. Unfortunately I don't think hockey is going to make it here in the states, not like this anyway. They keep talking about adding more teams, contrary to your point about making the league smaller. If they do this they should put the new teams in Canada where they will actually make good money from it. I like the no-touch icing idea and perhaps the shorter season would make it more interesting (the off-season just seems so long to me as a guy whose favorite sport is hockey).
