So what happened?
This was an excellent home opener that featured some nice work by Marc-Andre Fleury, a shorty and a coming-out party for Joe Vitale. It was a classic trap game (first game back home after a road trip, with a big match-up coming on Thursday), but the Pens took care of business in the home opener.

The Penguins hosted their first home game last night against the Florida Panthers after beginning the season on a three game Western Canada road trip. They came out of that road trip with 5 of the 6 possible points going 2-0-1. Well, after last night’s home opener they added two more points to their total with a big win.

Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby will meet with a neuropsychologist Tuesday to determine whether he can skate with contact.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported that Crosby will meet with clinical neuropsychologist Dr. Michael Collins, whose evaluation will determine whether Crosby can take his recovery fromm a concussion to the next step.
