I’m off to Vancouver tomorrow morning so I’m not going to spend a ton of time on this post-game wrap. The main points:
– Center Paul Stastny suffered what the team is calling a torso injury. I didn’t see him go down, but it was in the third period. Stastny, who scored a power-play goal to give the Avs a 2-1 lead, played 15:41, with two shots. Adrian Dater will have an update...
The Colorado Avalanche faced off against the Amway Detroit Red Wings for the third time this season after being outscored 8-2 in the first two games. Ryan O'Reilly scored twice and Gabriel Landeskog had two assists as the Colorado Avalanche took a 4-2 decision over the Detroit Red Wings at Pepsi Center.
Turnover after turnover cost the Red Wings their winning streak Sunday night as they were run ragged by a young Colorado Avalanche team. The Wings fell, 4-2, at the Pepsi Center, undone ignominiously enough by a shorthanded goal that ended a string of seven straight victories.
The odds of the Red Wings extending their season-high winning streak to eight games tonight at Colorado are in their favor.
