12:04 in the second period, Austin Watson unknowingly scored the game winner that would tie the series up at one between the Milwaukee Admirals and Texas Stars. Mike Liambas’ shot was blocked by Watson cutting through the slot and he snapped the puck past Nilstorp’s blocker. Watson’s goal was enough for Magnus Hellberg, who recorded a shutout by stopping all 23 shots. Hellberg’s latest shutout totaled his seventh in a span of 28 games. For insurance, Mike Moore scored the final goal of the game with an empty net 29 seconds remaining in the game. "Today was a huge game. Pretty clutch win," said Admirals' forward Mark van Guilder. "Especially after a tough loss in overtime yesterday." Things got a bit rough 4:07 in the third period when Liambas railed Jamie Oleksiak into the boards. Stars’ enforcer Luke Gazdic took exception and threw a punch that hurt the Admirals’ forward. Liambas was helped off the ice by a fellow teammate and did not return. Luckily after the hit, Oleksiak was able to return and finish the rest of the game. At the end of the play, Gazdic received a minor for instigating, major for fighting and ten minute misconduct; while Liambas was handed a major for fighting and ten minute misconduct for charging. The Admirals also lost Brad Winchester, who left the game after being hit in the Stars’ zone. If Winchester and Liambas are out for Wednesday’s Game 3, there should be no worries as a bunch of reinforcements will be heading the Ads’ way from the NHL. This was Milwaukee’s first win against Texas all season. Now, the series turns into a best-of-three series as it moves to Cedar Park, Texas for the remaining games.
