Found October 28, 2013 on The Farm Club:
In starting what will be his first full season in a Dallas Stars uniform, this kid is making a huge impact even during his short stint at the end of the 2013 season, he scored six goals in his first six games. It’s not much of a secret that Boston very much wanted Chiasson included in the Tyler Seguin trade – to which the Stars immediately refused. Jim Nill is obviously aware of the talent that he possesses. One of which is a keen sense of positioning, which he proved against Calgary the other night, scoring as he fell to the ice. Finding those tough spots in front of the net seems to be his forte.  At 6’4″ – Chiasson is an Intimidating figure. Weighing in at 195lb, he has the capability  to really pick up some speed going through the neutral and offensive zones. His importance to this team is striking to me. Long term, I would say he is going to be an integral key player going forward. Now, when I say integral player,  I wish to make comparisons with players such as Mike Keane. Workhorse players that worked incredibly hard and scored in many a big game situation during their long careers. Often they were overlooked. For example, only your hardcore Hockey fan would tell you just how important Mike Keane was to the 1999 Dallas Stars. The Modano’s and Brett Hull’s will receive much of the credit and remembrance. also deservedly so. I definitely see this kind of light in Alex Chiasson. I could easily see him as the type of guy scoring in overtime of game 7 in the Conference Finals. Let that sink in. Stars recall Travis Morin from AHL

The Stars are battling some flu, but also have no extra forwards, so they called up Travis Morin from the AHL today. Ryan Garbutt has served two games of a five-game suspension, but still must stay on the 23-man roster. Kevin Connauton is the extra defenseman, so Morin will be a forward who can add depth on a quick two-game road trip with back-to-back games Monday and Tuesday. ...

Bill Meltzer: Star Gazing: Stars Get a Point Despite Listless Start

The Dallas Stars have been plagued by inconsistency of offensive and defensive execution during their first seven games of the 2013-14 regular season. Every time the club seems to take a step forward in one game, it has inevitably been followed by a backward step in the next game or two. The Stars have dropped five of their last seven games (2-4-1). Last night, courtesy of another...

Stars hang on vs. new-look Sabres

Tyler Seguin capped a three-goal, first-period outburst, and the Dallas Stars hung on to deliver coach Lindy Ruff a 4-3 win in his homecoming against the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night. Jamie Benn, Alex Goligoski and Vernon Fiddler also scored in a game the Stars nearly squandered a 4-1 lead against the NHL's worst team. Eric Cole added two assists in Ruff's first game against...

B’s Beat: Reilly Smith Has Been A Pleasant Surprise.

When the Bruins sent Tyler Seguin to the Dallas Stars on the 4th of July this year, it left many fans and players speechless. To give up on such a young player with such a high ceiling is completely unprecedented. Going along with Seguin to Dallas was Rich Peverley, and defensive prospect Ryan Button. In return, the B’s received Loui Eriksson, an excellent yet underrated two way...

Bill Meltzer: Stars Gameday: 10/29/13 @ Montreal

On a night overshadowed by Lindy Ruff's return to Buffalo, the Dallas Stars captured an ugly 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres. The emotion of the evening was the big story, and the game play itself was decidedly mediocre. Basically, the Stars won this game because the Sabres' atrocious defense was worse then their own suspect defensive play. Ryan Miller singlehandedly...
