The Devils closed out the East Final series with the Rangers in six games by winning three straight to move onto the Stanley Cup Final.

Early March losses in Columbus and Detroit on consecutive nights could have sunken this Los Angeles team after months of treading water in the gut of the Western Conference.
The second loss was particularly deflating. Against an injury-riddled Red Wings team, the Kings surrendered a late third period lead on a quick succession of plays that left Mike Richards exasperated at both...
Peter DeBoer, in the eyes of many, was a surprise choice as the next coach of the New Jersey Devils. Fresh off the franchise's worst season in recent memory, Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello last summer turned to DeBoer to rescue a team that was low on morale, lower on scoring punch and desperate for a new identity.
But why DeBoer? In three seasons with Florida, he could...
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) -- Simon Gagne thought the Los Angeles Kings would be a Stanley Cup contender. That's why he signed with them as a free agent last summer.
Gagne's projection was correct. He just wishes he had played a bigger role in it.
The high-scoring forward hasn't played for the Kings since Dec. 26, when he suffered his latest concussion. It's been bittersweet...
Last night, the New Jersey Devils qualified for the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals, when they beat the New York Rangers 3-2 in overtime to win the Eastern Conference Finals 4-2. This is the first time in ten years that the Devils have qualified for the Cup Finals, and things have a very similar feel. The Devils will face an opponent from Southern California who will be trying to win their...
And then there were two. With the Devils defeating the Rangers in Game 6 on Friday night, this year's Stanley Cup Final is set, and it should be an entertaining series. Both teams are in the midst of an improbable run, as few anticipated this championship showdown. The Devils entered the playoffs as the Eastern Conference's sixth seed. They flew way under the radar for most...

Justin Williams and the Los Angeles Kings realize the Stanley Cup playoffs aren't usually as easy as they've made them look so far.
The Kings say they've prepared for lengthy series in every round of the postseason, but they haven't even had to play a Game 6 yet.
Los Angeles went on a 12-2 rampage through the Western Conference playoffs, earning a date with the...
It wasn't easy, but it's over. The New Jersey Devils and their 40-year-old, future Hall of Fame goalie have made it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Congrats to them and congrats to the NY Rangers for their stellar season.
As an Islander fan, yes, it is my birth-right to root against the Rangers and if some hockey fans found that offensive, I am sorry. But I do recognize...
Oh... this is happening, people.
When Brigitte from One Girl, One Puck started writing her Know Your Opponent series for The Royal Half just 2 1/2 months ago... I had no idea that her record when she previewed the opposing teams in the most sexist, objectifying way would be 5-1. (Curse you, regular season game against Vancouver!) So basically what I'm saying is that if...
Martin Brodeur's Devils outlasted Henrik Lundqvist's Rangers to advance to the Stanley Cup Final. We wanted to know what the caption should be for this photo of the two netminders.
