Pittsburgh Penguins enforcer Arron Asham is likely done for the rest of this season.
Asham is likely to get a multi-game suspension from the NHL in the coming days. Asham cross-checked Brayden Schenn’s throat.
He received a 10-minute match penalty for his deliberate intent to injure Schenn. Schenn left the game for a short time after Asham’s actions, before later coming back to the game.
When Schenn was down after being cross-checked, Asham punched him in the head.
“I’m sure they’ve already been looking at the situation (at the league office),” acknowledged Penguins coach Dan Bylsma after the game.
The Penguins currently trail the Flyers 0-3 in their series. The next game is on Wednesday night in Philadelphia.
