The Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey team is now 2-1-0 after enduring a 9-2 loss to Boston College on Friday to begin their first road trip of the season. UW now trails 9-13-0 in the series, dropping five games against the Eagles since their 2-1 victory in the 2006 NCAA Championship Game.
After letting Boston College pile on goals to a 7-0 start to the game, the Badgers finally got on the board with a power play goal by Michael Mersch in the 2nd period.
Sophomore forward Nic Kerdiles scored in the 3rd period to extend his points streak to 15 games, dating back to last season.
Wisconsin played without junior goaltender Joel Rumpel, who had a minor injury in practice during the week and didn't make the trip. Junior goalie Landon Peterson made the start in his place, making 16 saves in 21:45 minutes before sophomore Adam Miller took over in the second period. Miller had 24 saves and 3 goals against as he faced his first shots as a Badger in his second career game.
