This free agency period was considered by most, a mediocre class. I believe this class offered a lot of bargain second-third line forwards, and solid defensemen that could put a contending team over the top. The following series will evaluate some of the best bargains and signings of the class. There will be no Brad Richards or Christian Erhroff, that’s too easy (well actually I believe the Erhroff deal will severely backfire on the Buffalo Sabres). I will praise the savvy moves of 2011 free agency.
Since hitting a high in April, we have seen the United States stock market continuously dip. There have been some the days the stocks have surged but the for the most part it has been a troublesome collapse. In the professional sports, each player has a stock which can also rise and fall to dictate their market value. Perhaps no player in the NHL has had their stock rise more than defenseman Ian White.
On July 2, 2011, White signed a two year $5.75 million dollar contract...
