What this picture tells me is that all the padding a hockey player wears on their legs literally prevents them from shattering a knee. A lot of people think taking a slap shot off the leg during a hockey game doesn’t hurt because of the padding, but I’m pretty sure the photo above contradicts that line of thinking. Blackhawks defenseman Sami Lepisto took a puck to the inside of the knee in during a recent playoff game against the Coyotes. The result was a bruise across his entire leg. This might not look quite as nasty as other hockey injuries like this one or this one, but I’m sure it hurts just as much — if not more. Even further evidence of how tough some of these dudes are. Blackhawks Defenseman Sami Lepisto Tweets Photo of Crazy Leg Bruise (Photo)

It takes some serious intestinal fortitude to step in front of an NHL slap shot. Blackhawks defenseman Sami Lepisto is living proof of why. Lepisto apparently stepped in front of a slap shot during Chicago's first-round playoff series against Phoenix and lived to tell about it. Unfortunately, he also came away with a giant souvenir. The gutsy blue liner tweeted a photo on Monday...

This Is What It Looks Like When You Block a Slapshot In The NHL

Chicago defenseman Sami Lepisto took a slapshot to the leg last week, and he was kind enough to show the world via Twitter what a 90+mph hit puck can do to your leg. We appreciate the P.S.A. but we could have done with a proper warning before checking this out over breakfast. Article found on: Cosby Sweaters

Sami Lepisto has quite the bruise

Chicago Blackhawk Sami Lepisto may be eliminated from the playoffs but not for lack of effort. Lepisto tweeted this picture of his leg at least a week after he blocked a shot in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Lepisto had just three points in 26 games this season so you know how he makes his living, and it ain't always pretty. I haven't decided if this bruise...

Why should the Blackhawks keep these guys?

I understand the probability of all these players being booted off the Blackhawks roster are zero but I just want to give my take on players that I would like to see gone as soon as possible from the Blackhawks roster. Daniel Carcillo – I swear the reason person like this guy is because he [...]
