Patrick Sharp had quite the emotional weekend.

The Chicago Blackhawks right wing netted the game-winning goal in Sunday's 3-2 overtime victory over the San Jose Sharks, just hours after bringing his newborn baby girl home.

"It was tough to focus on hockey when so much is going on back home," the 29-year-old Sharp told the Chicago Tribune. "We have a great locker room so it's easy to kind of turn things off when you come to the rink. I was a space cadet for the whole game (Sunday) and then I was able to bounce one in there for the winner."

Marian Hossa took the initial shot on the game-winner, sending a wrister from the right point that was denied by Sharks goaltender Antti Niemi. The rebound skipped out in front and Sharp skated in on the left side and whacked at it twice before recording his 16th goal of the season.

The victory was the Blackhawks’ fourth win in the last five games (4-0-1).

Sharp, who has netted the team's last two overtime game-winning goals, has collected nine tallies and three assists in his past eight contests.

Sunday's heroics capped an emotional weekend for Sharp, who saw his wife, Abby, give birth to the couple's first child, Madelyn Grace, on Friday.
