Game four on Wednesday night started typically how the other three games started, a tight defensive battle, along with great goaltending. The world wasn’t prepared for what would happen next, as the flood gates would open in the scoring department.  Neither team was playing well defensively for most of the game, especially the Bruins who are praised on how well of a defensive team they are. Fans knew that eventually we could possibly see a game like this in the series, but don’t get too comfortable because it probably won’t happen again. With the first two out of three games going to overtime, it was always the possibility that there could be a third. Both teams have a “never quit attitude”, and put forth maximum effort to try and will their team to victory. The biggest difference going into this overtime game was the way the two teams got there. Tuukka Rask went into game four with a 1.64 goal-against-average, and an impressive .946 save percentage, but would allow post-season high...

The movie maintains a strong cult status among fans of slapstick humor, but it also has a place among Bruins lore, too. Of course, now-Bruins president Cam Neely had a cameo in the film playing Sea Bass, the ornery local who has...

Bruins coach Claude Julien morphs into King of the Hill’s Bill Dauterive (GIF)

Sure, “King of the Hill” may not have been Mike Judge’s finest work, but it was a sweet show that had a surprisingly long run on FOX and is a viable option for late-night viewing entertainment if you cannot find something else to watch. Perhaps the finest character on the show is Bill Dauterive. Born [...]The post Bruins coach Claude Julien morphs into King of the Hill’s...

Jaromir Jagr has Wolverine-esque intangibles and creative playmaking ability

Photo via Bruins.NHL.comScott LevesqueContent EditorWhen Boston traded for him on April 2nd the move was seen, by many, as an opportunity to help mentor the younger Bruins players - as the team made their playoff push.Who could blame the Bruins for that line of thought? With over 15 years of experience in the NHL, and a list of personal accolades as long as Interstate 95, the acquisition...

Ok so either everyone on the ice is mic’d up or the NHL has the best luck ever.  This is the third time that the series has gone to overtime, and this is the third time that the mic’d up player was involved in the game-winning goal.  Andrew Shaw was mic’d up when he scored the game-winner in Game 1, Tyler Seguin was mic’d up when he assited on the game-winner in Game 2...

Blackhawks to reunite their top line from Detroit series in Bickell, Toews and Kane

From CBS Sports' Adam Gretz: With his team trying to avoid falling into a 3-1 hole in the Stanley Cup Final, Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville seems prepared to reunite Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane on the same line for Game 4 on Wednesday night. Patrick Sharp gives post-game interview without pants

After a huge overtime win in Game 4 which included a nice goal and celebration fail, Patrick Sharp gave a post-game interview without any pants.  I guess since they’re only shooting you from the chest up there’s nothing for him to worry about, but it’s still pretty funny to see. [Reddit]

Stanley Cup Swagger: The Blackhawks may have it, but does this music video?

Chicago's playoff secret is Mario Kart

Bryan Bickell has kept a player blog on NHL.com during the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals. On Tuesday, he shared with us the Hawks secret to success. How they won the 2010 Stanley Cup, how they broke the record for longest point streak to start a season (24 games, 2013), and how they have survived to make it all the way to the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals to face the Boston Bruins. Stanley Cup Finals: Blackhawks Tie Series On Seabrook’s OT Winner.

Unlikely Goals From Unlikely Sources Continue to Power Stanley Cup Final (Video)

Think you know what’s going to happen in these playoffs? Think again. The unlikeliest of heroes continue to emerge for the Bruins during their Stanley Cup run, and Game 3 was no different. Rich Peverley was the man of the hour in the first period, but he won’t be the last member of the Black and Gold to come out of nowhere to shine. NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette and Alison Smith...

John Jaeckel: Game 5/Leddy Situation

Follow me @jaeckel A great Stanley Cup Final continues tonight in Chicago with a critical Game 5. The Bruins don't want to guarantee a game 7 in Chicago, or a possible end to their season on home ice in Game 6. The Hawks certainly don't want to go back to Boston down 3-2 and in need of another huge (and less probable) road win. So while this isn't a Game 7, the...
