The Bruins emerged from the power play late in the second period in their do-or-die matchup with the Capitals unscathed, but Washington wasn't finished. The Capitals pushed the puck up the ice, and Nicklas Backstrom took out Brad Marchand in the process. Backstrom then skated up and fired, with Jason Chimera swooping in to net the equalizer with less than a minute to go in the period. As Washington celebrated, the B's were left wondering what happened to the bloodied Marchand during the play.
