After outlasting the competition in three straight rounds, Pekka Rinne will now have the opportunity to become the very first Nashville Predators player ever to be on the cover of an EA Sports’ “NHL” game. Now on to the finals between himself and Claude Giroux from the Philadelphia Flyers, Rinne has had to garner enough votes to get past John Tavares (semi-finals), Henrik Lundqvist (quarter-finals), and Patrick Sharp (opening round). Gathering support from people around the world, including such celebrities as Charlie Sheen, Rinne has a chance at video game immortality if he can rally the troops for one more round, which could only be dubbed the “Boss level” if we’re talking in terms of video games. Yeah, beating out Sharp/Lundqvist/Tavares was tough enough (especially with some of the great ways the Islanders were using to garner votes), but nothing will be as difficult as beating a player from Philly. Their fan base has very long reaching arms. Either way, the NHL 2013 Cover Vote has been a great opportunity for Nashville Predators fans to vote for their favorite goalie and get him on the cover, however there is still one more opponent to get past. Vote early and often! Voting starts today and goes through June 4th. You can vote as much as you want and can do so here: http://covervote.nhl.com
