The Last Angry Fan:
For those of you unawares of the history between former NHL sniper Brett Hull and the city of Buffalo, the Dallas Stars beat the Buffalo Sabres in triple-OT of Game 6 on Brett Hull’s highly controversial “skate in the crease” goal. Other than Scott Norwood’s infamous “wide right” kick in Super Bowl XXV, it’s pretty well the most painful moment in Buffalo sports history, so you can understand why Buffalo fans were a little upset with Hull posting the above Jack-o’-lantern depicting said Cup winning goal on Twitter, in the process trolling every Sabres fan in the Queen city.

Think that after 13 years Buffalonians have gotten over the blown call? Judging by the venomous responses from Sabres fans , I’ll say they fail to see the humor in Hull’s fantastic pumpkin creation.

The above image of Brett Hull scoring a goal for the Dallas Stars in triple overtime of Game 6 of the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals against the Buffalo Sabres is the most iconic — and controversial — image (and play) from that playoff series, or any NHL playoff series, for that matter. The goal secured [...]
One of the most controversial plays in the history of sports stems from the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals, when Brett Hull scored the game and series-winner for the Dallas Stars, giving them their first title. The controversy stems from Hull’s skate being in the crease at the time of the goal. Replays were clear that [...]
