After much speculation of the Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Brian Burke allegedly working a deal with the Philadelphia Flyers to acquire James van Riemsdky. Along with other Maple Leafs trade rumours seeing the Maple Leafs acquire Ryan Getzlaf or Bobby Ryan from the Anaheim Ducks. As I continue to look at these potential trading partners we have heard about over the last weeks. I see that deals with teams like the Flyers and Ducks are unrealistic, from both sides of the trade. Toronto needs a relatively young center, with size, and wants to be in Toronto longer than 2 seasons. A realistic approach to acquiring such a player lies with Colorado Avalanche’s Paul Stastny. Stastny, at age 25, is a former 2nd round (44th overall) draft pick, who has recorded three, 70 point plus seasons over his first five NHL seasons of his career.
