Found June 16, 2013 on CLNS Radio:
For as much criticism as Coach Claude Julien gets for babying his top line and not changing them at all, he doesn't get nearly enough credit for the more minor changes.  Those minor changes won the game for Boston last night. After total domination by Chicago in the first period, outshooting the Bruins 19-4, Julien shuffled the bottom lines around to try and get something going.  He moved Chris Kelly and Danielle Paille up to the third line with Tyler Seguin, making the fourth line Rich Peverley centering Shawn Thornton and Kaspars Daugavins. Trailing 1-0 in the second, the new Speed Line came out with a purpose.  None of the guys on that line are particularly physical, but they try.  That effort is what lead to the game tying goal 14:58 into the period.  Paille dogged Patrick Sharp behind the Blackhawk net and came away with the puck.  He skated around the glove side of Corey Crawford for the wraparound that bounced off of Crow's leg and into the slot where Chris Kelly cras...

Bruins-Blackhawks: Tyler Seguin Windmills & Swears His Ass Off After OT Winner (VIDEO)

Bruins winger Tyler Seguin has taken a lot of heat for his lack of scoring during the playoffs.  However, #19 is playing well in other areas of the gave. He is playing well defensively and using his speed to create opportunities. And he did just that with his new line mates Chris Kelly & Daniel Paille.  Seguin figured in both goals setting up the game winner. As he and Bruins...

Kelly scores, Bruins tied with Blackhawks 1-1

Chris Kelly scored after goalie Tuukka Rask kept Boston in the game, and the Bruins were tied with the Chicago Blackhawks 1-1 through two periods in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals on Saturday night. The Blackhawks swarmed the Bruins in the early going after escaping with a 4-3 triple-overtime victory in the series opener, taking the lead in the first on Patrick Sharp's ninth...

Bruins Reaffirm Hockey Gods’ Sense of Humor by Tying Game Despite Being Outplayed Through Two Periods (Video)

The Blackhawks were by far the superior team through the first two periods of Game 2 — everywhere except on the scoreboard. There, the Bruins were equal because of an improbably Chris Kelly goal that breathed life back into a Boston team that looked to be on its last legs. Instead, they’ll have another 20 minutes to fight for a win, something that seemed would be all but impossible...

SportsCenter tweets that Tyler Seguin scores Game 2 overtime winner

Man, the person running SportsCenter’s Twitter account must have been paying close attention to which Boston Bruins forward scored the game-winner in overtime of Game 2.  Anyone can plainly see that Daniel Paille scored the game-winner, but that didn’t stop them from sending out this tweet.  At least Tyler Seguin got an assist on the game-winner. The tweet was quickly replaced...

Worst Player In The Finals

One question that interests me is who is the worst player who gets a regular shift in the NHL and why is that player continues to get a shift.  Usually in the playoffs it is hard to identify such a player because a team playing an ineffective player regularly usually soon gets eliminated but this year there is a clear choice.  That man is Chris Kelly of the Boston Bruins. Kelly...

Tyler Seguin Mic’d up during Daniel Paille’s Game 2 Overtime winner

The NHL has had some fantastic luck with the players they have chosen to mic up during their games.  In the triple overtime Game 1 thriller, the game-winning goal scorer Andrew Shaw was mic’d up.  This time in overtime of Game 2, Tyler Seguin was mic’d up and he set up the game-winning goal.  A lot of it had to be edited out because of Seguin swearing, but if I’m a Bruins...

Bruins, Blackhawks Best Teams in NHL, Series Could Come Down to Coin Flip Says Jack Edwards (Audio)

According to Jack Edwards, the Stanley Cup Final could basically come down to a coin flip. “The high school probability test,” he calls it. What Edwards means is that the Bruins and Blackhawks are undoubtedly the two best teams in the NHL, and that they are so evenly matched that the series should be exciting right up until the end. On Monday morning, Edwards called in to KISS...

Tuukka Rask, Tyler Seguin Shine in Best Images From Game 2 of Stanley Cup Final (Photos)

The Bruins looked dead in the water through the early portions of Game 2 in Chicago. Somehow, they survived until overtime — and then they won it. Daniel Paille‘s game-winning goal in overtime gave the Bruins the most improbable of victories and evened the series at 1-1. Now, the series shifts back to the TD Garden, where the B’s will look to continue their momentum on home...

Bruins vs Blackhawks: Keys To Game 3

After splitting the series on the road it's finally time for a home game for the Boston Bruins. The Bruins had a chance to win both road games but only came away with one win when Paille scored in the overtime of game two.(via yahoo.com)Now the Bruins have a chance to go up in the series at home. The Bruins cant afford to waste the next two games or their chances of winning the...

ESPN isn’t so good at this whole “hockey” thing

Immediately following Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Bruins and Blackhawks, ESPN’s SportsCenter account figured they’d try their hand at tackling this whole “hockey” phenomenon with an exciting tweet recapping the game. Unfortunately, nobody told them that Daniel Paille, NOT Tyler Seguin, netted the game-winner for Boston. The tweet was quickly deleted and all...

Nathan Horton Practices Friday, Splits Time With Tyler Seguin on Top Line

Nathan Horton is down but he’s not out. Horton, who appeared to suffer a left shoulder injury during overtime of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, was practicing on Friday afternoon. The winger was splitting time with Tyler Seguin on the first line alongside David Krejci and Milan Lucic. Horton, who has 18 points this postseason, never returned following his injury. Horton is reportedly...

Bruins Maintaining Balance, Perspective Following Triple-Overtime Loss in Game 1 (Video)

The team that stands victorious at the end of a best-of-seven series is often the team with the shortest memory. After a loss — even a triple-overtime one — great teams learn from their mistakes, but do not dwell on them. After the Bruins dropped Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final to the Blackhawks on Wednesday night (or, technically, early Thursday morning), the players underwent...

Snakebitten Tyler Seguin might get his big opportunity

Nathan Horton may or may not play tonight in game two of the Stanley Cup Final. Turns out he has a shoulder that has been dislocating over the past two months more than Mel Gibson’s in Lethal Weapon 2. If there was ever more proof that hockey players are the toughest players in the world, Nathan Horton would be up there on that list. Losing him would hurt. He has been the top ...

Yipee Paille Mother F***er game two....

Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille has scored the last two goals for the Boston Bruins. Tyler Seguin is starting to heat up in the scoring department as well. About halfway through game three, it's been a pretty even game with the shots 16-15 in the Bruins favor. The Bruins have blocked 10 shots to the Blackhawks one. 3-game point streak for Seguin now with the helper on...

Bruins Beat Blackhawks in OT, Stanley Cup Finals Knotted at 1-1

And just like that -- the Boston Bruins are back in the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals.Proving these teams are ridiculously even -- and that overtime periods could become the norm in this series -- the Bruins' Daniel Paille scored at the 13:48 mark in overtime to give the Bruins a much-needed victory in Chicago Saturday night. After a disastrous Game 1, where they blew a two-goal lead...
