A 2-9 start is not what is expected from an Alexander Ovechkin-led squad, but that’s how the Capitals began the 2013 season. The Caps have turned it on of late, though, picking up their fourth win in five games with a 4-3 victory over the Bruins in overtime Tuesday night. The B’s took an early 3-0 lead at the Verizon Center but could not hold on, dropping their second a row after a six-game win streak.
“You can’t expect to win a hockey game if your not going to play three periods,” Bruins coach Claude Julien told Naoko Funayama during Ace Ticket Presents Bruins Overtime LIVE. ”The team we played tonight was a pretty desperate team, they’re fighting to get back into the playoffs. Usually we’re gonna come out with a little bit more of a vengeance in the second period and we didn’t respond well.”
