For many of us puckheads, the NHL trading deadline is an exciting time. For some of you, your club may be one or two solid players away from going from a solid playoff team to a Stanley Cup contender. For others, it is all about your team rebuilding for the future and, sometimes, gutting the team (see: Ottawa).With this in mind, it is time remind fans to be patient with their respective teams during the deadline and to think about the future of their club. For example, do you want to give up one of your best prospects, a few picks and/or one of your better players for someone that is just going to be on your roster for a couple months?Too often, teams will risk it all and forget that in today's NHL, you need to keep the cupboard occupied with talent.
