Last month, it was announced that Ryan Callahan underwent successful surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The Rangers captain recently gave an update on his progress (via Blueshirts United)... "It's getting there, slowly but surely (my shoulder) is feeling better. The first week (after surgery) was tough." As I suspected, Callahan admitted the injury occured in a fight with Flyers forward Max Talbot on January 29th at Madison Square Garden, but didn't make any excuses for playing with the injury for virtually the entire season... "It's part of it, there are no excuses. If you can get out on the ice and play, then no excuses. But fortunately it's feeling better now (after the surgery)." The recovery time will be 4-5 months and he'll likely miss training camp and possibly start of next season.
