The Montreal Canadiens acquired center Petteri Nokelainen and defenseman Garrett Stafford from the Phoenix Coyotes on Sunday for center Brock Trotter and a seventh-round draft pick in 2012. Nokelainen, 24, has collected one assist in five games this season. The 16th overall pick of the 2004 draft, Nokelainen has recorded 35 points in 194 career NHL games. Stafford, 31, has recorded four points in five games playing with Portland in the American Hockey League. Trotter, 24, has seven points in five contests with Hamilton of the AHL.
