The Montreal Canadiens agreed to a one-year contract with defenseman Chris Campoli.
The deal is worth $1.75 million for Campoli, who was unable to come to terms with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Campoli, 27, collected four goals, 17 assists and 36 penalty minutes last season in 77 games with the Ottawa Senators and Blackhawks.
Acquired from Ottawa at the trade deadline, Campoli appeared in 19 games with Chicago and had one goal and six assists.
