The Montreal Canadiens signed veteran wing Brian Willsie to a one-year, two-way deal on Thursday.
The two-way deal means that Willsie can be shipped back and forth between the NHL and the American Hockey League.
The 33-year-old Willsie has played in just five NHL games over the last two seasons. He had an assist as the Washington Capitals posted a 4-3 overtime loss to the Florida Panthers on Jan. 11.
Willsie collected 52 goals and 109 points in 381 career NHL games with the Capitals, Los Angeles Kings and Colorado Avalanche.
