The Carolina Hurricanes have claimed right wing Andreas Nodl on waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers.
The team also reassigned forward Brent Sutter to Charlotte of the AHL. The moves were announced prior to coach Kirk Mueller's debut with the Hurricanes on Tuesday.

The Canes have claimed forward Andreas Nodl on waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers.
Nodl, 24, had one assist in 12 games for the Flyers this season and averaged 10:17 in ice time. He had 11 goals and 11 assists in 67 games last season.
Nodl, a native of Vienna, Austria, was a second-round pick (37th overall) by the Flyers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Forward Brett Sutter has been reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers (AHL).
Sutter, 24, had played in each of Carolina’s four games after being recalled from Charlotte on Nov. 21, and now has three assists in eight games this season with the Hurricanes.
Sutter was named Charlotte’s captain prior to the season, and has two goals and two assists (4 points) in 14 games this year with the Checkers.

A day after losing Chris Pronger to knee surgery, the Flyers have lost another player- this time to the Carolina Hurricanes.
According to Tim Panaccio of Comcast Sports Net, the Hurricanes have claimed Nodl off of waivers.
Nodl appeared in 12 games for the Flyers, recording only 1 assist and a +/- of -1.

Jim Rutherford has been a busy man the last couple of days as he has now claimed 24-year old winger Andreas Nodl off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers. At first, I didn't think much of this move because Nodl appeared to be nothing more than a depth forward and I assumed the 11 goals and 22 points he had last season was a product of playing on a line with Mike Richards.
