The Canes have claimed forward Andreas Nodl on waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers.
Nodl, 24, had one assist in 12 games for the Flyers this season and averaged 10:17 in ice time. He had 11 goals and 11 assists in 67 games last season.
Nodl, a native of Vienna, Austria, was a second-round pick (37th overall) by the Flyers in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Brett Sutter reassigned
Forward Brett Sutter has been reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers (AHL).
Sutter, 24, had played in each of Carolina’s four games after being recalled from Charlotte on Nov. 21, and now has three assists in eight games this season with the Hurricanes.
Sutter was named Charlotte’s captain prior to the season, and has two goals and two assists (4 points) in 14 games this year with the Checkers.
