WINNIPEG — The Canes will have Brian Boucher in goal tonight for what they hope is a bounceback victory to end a three-game road trip.
Boucher will making his second start of the season against the Winnipeg Jets and again in the second game of a back-to-back. His first game came Oct. 8 against the Washington Capitals, a 4-3 overtime loss for the Canes.
The Jets are 1-4-1 but beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in their last home game at MTS Centre. Now it's their first Southeast Division game -- albeit well, well north of anything in the Southeast.
"Just another night in the balmy Southeast," Canes coach Paul Maurice joked.
Asked his biggest concern against the Jets, Maurice said, "Just their speed, their transition speed. They move the back to front real quick and counter real quick. That's the biggest challenge for us."
