In their 43-year history the Vancouver Canucks have had 13 road trips of seven or more games. They haven’t posted a winning record in any of them. Maybe No. 14 is going to be the charm. It’s early but the Canucks opened a seven-game sojourn Tuesday night with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center. Ryan Kesler scored the winner at 17:35 of the third period on a rebound while playing with new linemates Henrik Sedin and Chris Higgins. That trio was put together in the third period when the Vancouver offence sputtered for the first two periods. AHL call-up Tye McGinn scored two goals for the Flyers who lost for sixth time in seven starts. The Canucks improved to 4-30-o on the season. Higgins with his first of the season tied the game at 7:31 of the third when he took a pass from behind the net from Henrik Sedin and beat Flyers’ goalie Steve Mason glove side. The assist was Henrik’s 800th NHL point. McGinn’s second of the night came at 2:10 of the second period and it gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead. Jakub Voracek started the play with a rush down the right boards He threw a pass by Vancouver defenceman Dan Hamhuis that appeared to hit the left wrist of Claude Giroux and the puck bounced directly to McGinn who fired it past Vancouver goalie Roberto Luongo. The teams traded goals in the first period and they came just 10 seconds apart. \McGinn dove to put a backhand off a rebound past Luongo at the 12:36 mark. Luongo had made the initial left-pad save off defenceman Nicklas Grossman. But faster than you can say Benjamin Franklin the Canucks got that one back. Ryan Kesler took advantage of a fortuitous bounce to even things up at 12:36. Mason went behind his next to play the puck after Jannik Hansen had dumped the puck into the Flyer zone. But the puck took a strange bounce off the boards and went directly in front of the empty net to Kesler. He tapped it in for his second goal of the season.
