Game 1 of the first round matchup between the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals had everything that everyone was expecting. There were lots of goals, plenty of hits, and the emotions were running high.

  • You can't stop play when a guy goes down in his defensive zone when the other team is attacking. Then everyone will fake an injury if they can't get the puck out out of their end just to get a whistle. It's unfortunate that Thoresen was hurt but the Caps were pressing to score the tying goal.
  • Point taken. In this situation, it's clear he's in agony and needs attention.
  • It's all fun and games until someone loses a testicle.
  • One more thing, does this just happen in Philly. I mean do male sports players need to worry about their "cash and prizes", theie "scrum-dilli-umptious"? Whether related to in-game play or not? Sheesh. This is at least number two, but I believe there is one other person I am not thinking of.
  • Are you referring to John Kruk? Fortunately for Thoresen, the damage didn't require surgery. He was released from the hospital yesterday and is out of the game today. They are saying he may be back for game 3.
