Washington Capitals right wing Alexander Semin will return from his one-game punishment for Wednesday's contest against the Winnipeg Jets. While Semin's punishment has ended, right wing Joel Ward will be scratched from Wednesday's game after missing a team meeting. "I basically slept in, missed a team meeting (on Tuesday) so I've got to pay the consequences of not playing," Ward told the Washington Post. "It's part of the team rules, it was written. I just made the mistake of sleeping in." Ward, 30, has collected four goals and four assists in 19 games this season. As for Semin's absence, coach Bruce Boudreau detailed that the 27-year-old Russian needed a wake-up call. "He's taken penalties seven games in a row," Boudreau said.
