Katie Carrera at the Washington Post talked to a number of Capital players about the difficulties the team may face sticking to their defensive game plan now that the series has shifted to Washington...

Troy Brouwer...

"I know we're in front of the home crowd and they may want to see some flash and some dazzle but we have to keep our game the same as we were playing on the road because that's what's been successful for us — be patient, defense first, capitalize on our opportunities and just play a solid game."

Karl Alzner...

"We've just got to remind ourselves: Don't get fancy. Don't try to make those extra plays. That is the hardest part of playing at home. We've still got a lot of confidence at home. I think that's still where we play our best hockey. It'll really help, I think, against the Rangers. They're a good team on their ice. It'll be nice to get the crowd behind us so we can get a little bit more momentum."

...this is actually a great point. While a frenzied crowd can definitely help carry a team in the playoffs, it can also have the reverse affect when a player or entire team feel that have to do too much to impress the home town fans.

Meanwhile, CSN Washington takes a look at Alex Ovechkin's lack of ice time in the playoffs...

...why is the media making such a big deal over Ovechkin's ice time? He's not complaining and the Caps are winning. Talk about making a story out of nothing.

Although, the Washington Post reports that Ovechkin was practicing on a line with Backstrom this morning, so that may mean more ice time for the Capitals All-World player.
