One Fan's Perspective:
The NHL didn't miss Daniel Carcillo from reaching over the bench grabbing a Chicago Blackhawks player during a scrum in the third period Wednesday night. They suspend Carcillo for two games.
The FSN cameras picked it up, former head coach Denis Savard saw it too, and the NHL War room noticed it as well.
The television broadcast referenced an interview that Pierre McGuire did with Sports Illustrated that ranked Carcillo fifth of the current NHL pugilists due to his skill on the ice and in combat. But the phrase that got Carcillo, according to Todd Walsh, was that in the eyes of McGuire, Carcillo was unpredictable. Carcillo desired to be a player that the coaching staff could count on in the waning moments of games to do the right thing and pull through. In other words, be predictable.
However Carcillo, has to know that he has to work harder to stay away from any hint of trouble to change his reputation. Unfortunately, they will continue looking at him until he can be that player to be relied upon in pressure situations.
