Just because Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price wasn’t between the pipes on Monday night for the Habs’ game against the Carolina Hurricanes doesn’t mean he wasn’t able to display some fancy glovework while watching the action on the ice while seated on the bench.
During the second period, a puck off the stick of Hurricanes defenseman Jamie McBain (awesome name — insert Rainier Luftwaffe Wolfcastle reference here) made its way into the Canadiens’ bench. Thankfully for RDS analyst and former goaltender Marc Denis — especially his face — Carey Price was paying close attention, as the goalie snatched the puck out of the air with his glove before it drilled the rinkside analyst.
Price’s quick thinking meant that Denis did not suffer fate as cruel as Rangers rinkside reporter John Giannone earlier this month. Which is a good thing. [reddit]
