The Chicago Blackhawks record setting streak hit it’s apex tonight! The Blackhawks record for points starting a season is there’s and there’s alone now. With a 2-1 home win over the San Jose Sharks, they’ve now gone 17 straight games with at least one point. The Blackhawks record breaks the 2006-2007 Anaheim Ducks, who started 12-0-4 and went on to win the Stanley Cup that year. The Blackhawks record is much more impressive as they are 14-0-3. “It’s a remarkable start,” coach Joel Quenneville said. “We’re very happy and pleased. Guys should be proud of the achievement and where they’re at, especially in a 48-game season. It’s put us in a real good spot.” A concern for Chicago coming into the season was their goaltending. However, starting goaltender Corey Crawford is third among qualified goaltenders in save percentage.  Backup goalie Ray Emery is twelfth among the qualified goaltenders and has won all six of his starts. The NHL has been in business since 1917, and no team has ever had a start this hot. All three stars of the game were Blackhawks: Viktor Stalberg was the #3 star for his goal, #2 star of the game was Ray Emery with 26 saves and the #1 star was Brandon Saad, who had the short-handed goal or SHORTY! This is the third time the Blackhawks have beaten the San Jose Sharks this year. Is this amazing Blackhawks record a sign of things to come? Like a repeat of the 2010 Stanley Cup run.   The post Chicago Blackhawks record breakers: best start in NHL history! appeared first on The Sports Bank.Net.
