Stewie had to know that Brendan Shannahan would be giving him a call before Kronwall ever impacted the boards. Chris Stewart and Kronwall were going after a loose puck in the first period of the Blues-Wings game and Stewart just nudged Kronwall but with how big he is the impact was a little bit more than Stewart was hoping for.
Im sure people in Detroit are calling for Stewart’s head but he’s not a dirty player. He had no priors with the league before this incident and this will more than likely be a one-time thing for him.
Luckily, Kronwall was not hurt on the play and returned to action to start the second period. Hopefully for Stew, this will give him a few games off to relax and hopefully find his game since he is known for being a notoriously slow starter. He will be eligible to return November 23rd when the Blues travel to Pittsburgh.
